Paint It Black

Easy song for ya today (of course I thought Friday's song was easy too and you guys managed to prove me wrong).

I spent all weekend painting the basement. Lots of work but it's done and I can move on to the next few steps.

Unfortunately, with all the painting, etc. I didn't get to see much on TV. I did see Bode Miller lose and Apolo Anton Ohno gag in his semifinal race in the short track 1,500. Americans not off to a great start. I caught part of the Canadian women's hockey game against Russia. It's pretty obvious that Canada and US will meet in the final.

Spent 90 minutes in the hell that is a 7 year old's birthday party on Saturday. My sister in law's father is a total jackass, I'd really like to pop him one. This is the guy that basically cancelled Christmas for them because she wouldn't come to his house on the day that he ordered her too, then said he wouldn't come to his grandson's b-day party because of it. Then he just shows up out of the blue and what is his gift? $50 in $1 bills. Is he looking to take him to a strip club??? Like I said, he's a jackass. There will come a day when my brother lights him up. I guarantee it.

Valentines day is tomorrow. Another of those damn Hallmark holidays guaranteed to fuck me up. This is my 18th year of marriage. How am I supposed to come up with something new and original each year? It's a joke. I think this year I'll give her a "Valentines 5" (Scrubs reference for those not getting it).

Oh yes, bowling Saturday night. Another ugly exhibition of bowling, my worst of the year as I shot a whopping 503. But, there was a silver lining. We won a game after losing 8 in a row. Oh, and I did manage to get a higher score than the Grinder. But that's not really saying much... :)

Last night was hockey night.

I just realized that there is no flow to this posting at all, bouncing around like a boxer on Meth.

Anyway, where was I? Ah, hockey. 6:30 start time. At 6:05 I was in the basement cleaning up when I glanced at the clock. Oh sonofa... Grabbing my bag I raced out to the car and hauled ass. Just as I finished getting dressed the horn sounded to start the game... aw, who needs to warm up first. I did a half-assed stretching motion and we're off. We won 7-4, I had an ok game considering I didn't warm up and we only had 3 defensemen so I had to play a lot.

Ok, I gotta get to work now.

OK - 3rd freaking try at those words

Not even sure what you're referring to...
You must have that internal conversation going again where it all makes sense to you and only you.

Easy song - too easy, I'll let some youngsters take a crack at it first. Basement looks great!

Thanks KK. I want to see that red in the daytime too. I bet it hurts my eyes to look at!
I just bought a new toy too. A Porter-Cable compressor with 3 nail guns (brad, finish and staple). Picking up the doors tonight and will put them in this weekend.

Yeah, I picked up a compressor and a couple of nail guns 10 years ago. I use them all the time. They are the best tools I've every bought and glad I have them. As for the Red, what about your first heritage of Purple and Gold? No walls going to be painted that color?

haha... Our upstairs is purple and gold... which is a little difficult to pull off here where everyone hates the Vikings.

Oh, Ha-ha, I didn't think of that. I bet that is hard to pull off. So rumor's out here are the Farve is going to retire.

No one knows what Brett's going to do... He'll drag it out forever. My guess is he'll retire too but you never know.
Hardest part here is that the Vikings hired an ex-Badger coach as their head coach and he went and hired ex-Badger QB and ex-Packer qb coach as the offensive coordinator. Too bad we have to root against them.

Yeah, that will makes it tough. But I think it's one of those things where you'll always root for them until the play the Packers. As far as Brett goes. I think he'll play one more year and then retire. I don't think he wants to go out or end his career with the horrible season he had last year. ...at least I wouldn't, and if he has another bad year he'll know for sure it's time to hang 'em up.

Everyone says that but he's always maintained that he didn't care about that, no one was going to judge him by that season and he has his super bowl ring.

I'm not impressed with the Olympics so far, probably because Canada has been busy sucking ass.
