Back to an oldie for today's song, sorry kids. I even gave you a picture of these guys from long, long ago as a clue. Grinder wins for yesterday's song by Velvet Revolver. Again, these are just coming randomly off my iPod.
The next song that popped up was Fat Bottomed Girls which reminded me to post something about the women's figure skating from last night. Why do they have to put it on so late? I saw some of them, but missed Sasha Cohen fall. I guess no one did very well, except the Japanese girl and I saw most of her routine before falling back asleep again. Cohen, even with falling down, won the Silver. The Japanese girl won the Gold for Japan's first medal of any kind in these Olympics and their first gold for figure skating.
Taxes....
How's that for an abrupt 180 (or complete 360?). I've been putting off doing it for a month now. It's going to be complicated since I became independent on July 1st and have to handle all that stuff myself. Estimated tax payments, IRA's, business deductions, etc, it all makes my head hurt. I use Turbo Tax online and have for years. I just upgraded to the premiere version, hopefully it will ask me all the right questions. If it doesn't look good after a few tries I'll end up hiring an accountant to take care of it but I'm pretty much a cheap bastard so I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. That's how I'll spend my afternoon since today is half-day Friday!
Survivor...
Couple interesting developments last night. First La Mina keeps losing as they lost both closely contested challenges last night. They really need some food, that's becomming evident quickly. Not sure why they can't catch a single fish, they seem to be flying out of the water all the time, just put your damn hand out!
After the reward challenge (an outdoor bathroom was the reward) , Casaya decided to send Terry to Exile Island. This guy is looking like the most dominating player in the game (isn't it always the 40 year old guy that dominates? I'm pretty sure I would too. :). And sure enough, he uses the few clues that are available and finds the individual immunity idol! He's gold now, as he can whip that sucker out the first time someone turns on him and he gets the most votes. That could be his ticket to the final four.
In the immunity challenge, Sally and Austin were clearly the fastest in the balance beam water filling up challenge. And at the end they had a good lead but Austin, fearful of spilling any water, slowly poured 2 buckets of water into the big bucket while Casaya just threw theirs in and got enough to raise Danielle up to pull the ring to win the contest. That loss was clearly on Austin and he admitted as much but no one called him on it.
In the end it came down to a minor alliance busting with Ruth Marie being sent home instead of Sally. This is going to cause some additional friction between Austin and Terry with Dan, since Dan had told Ruth Marie she was with them and gave her his word. Oh well, she wasn't much help in the challenges and Sally was, so she's the 4th person (all women) voted out.

Hey, if you were living in the outdoors for 39 days you'd be grateful for an outdoor bathroom reward (with TP).
I'll probably end up going with the accountant at some point.
To the outdoor bathroom reward?
Hey Tonight is from CCR.
