Survivor Race War

Survivor started last night and as is the case every season, there's a new twist. The contestants were divided into 4 teams based on race. Asian Americans, Latinos, African Americans and Caucasians.

Kind of makes it interesting but not enough to make a big thing out of it. I think it'll be a topic for a few more days but it'll get old quickly and they'll move into 2 tribes before too long.

In the first challenge, the Asian Americans proved to be tops at puzzle building and boat rowing as they were the first to finish, followed by the Latinos and Caucasians. That left the African Americans to go to tribal council were Seikou was voted out due to his poor leadership (rule number 2: never take leadership position on day 1).

Last night was our final regular season hockey game of the summer. We lost 4-3 in a frustrating game. My line was buzzing all night and all we could show for it was one goal that I scored off a turnover. I had at least 5 or 6 shots as did the other 2 on my line but couldn't get one in. Oh well, playoffs start next week and since we finished 4th out of 4 teams we get last pick for goalies so that's not going to help, going against the first place team with the best goalie. Yikes.

Since today is Friday and it's my half day I have to figure out what to do with my afternoon... usually... and usually golf is part of that calculation, especially when it's supposed to be sunny and 78 today. Unfortunately, my negligence in the lawn mowing arena means I will be plowing my mower through 18" of very thick grass all afternoon. And no, I don't want your fucking pity.
