Sandbaggers

So, bowling last night, we're bowling the defending champs. They're leadoff bowler had high average in the league last year, something about 215. But, we changed the handicap system slightly to put the high average at 210 instead of 200. So, for me, as a 202 average last year I was getting 0 handicap and this year I get 7 pins. But, this totally makes this guy into a big baby. I don't get it, it wasn't fair that I got 0 with a 202 and he got 0 with a 215 but all of a sudden him getting 0 still wasn't fair to him. Fucking whiner if you ask me.

What does he do about it? Proceeds to average 170 for the first 3 weeks so last night when we use our new averages for the first time he gets 36 pins handicap and goes out and averages 211 for the night and we get smoked. He proudly proclaimed how much he sandbagged. To me, that makes him a massive ass munch.

We struggled as a team to make up this gap and of course, couldn't, losing all 7 points. I did ok but only had a 623, lowering my 217 average to 214. The lanes were super dry and each lane was completely different requiring 2 different shots with 2 different speeds. I got a split in the 10th of the first game for a 212. Blew the 9th and 10th of the 2nd game with splits for a 177 and came back with a 234 the 3rd game.

Interestingly enough (or maybe not), last year my 3rd game was my worst by far (CB blames it on the beer, I think he's full of poop) and this year I'm averaging 234 the 3rd game. Go figure, it's early yet I may still go back to normal.

I watched sportscenter in HD this morning on the new tv, just beautiful. I still haven't even gone through the adjustment process to get the contrast, brightness, colors, etc just right.

Our last hockey game of the summer season is tonight. We're playing for 3rd place in a 4 team league (no, we're not playing for last place). Winter season starts at the end of October.
