Best Brats Ever

After hearing the Grinder continually espouse the virtues of the new Copps grocery store in Sun Prairie, Cdubya and I went there on Sunday to check it out.

I have to admit, he was dead on. As far as grocery stores go it was top notch. It reminded me quite a bit of Larry's Market in Seattle. The produce, bakery and meat sections were outstanding.

We'll be going back this weekend to pick up some steaks for barbecuing. But last night, I bbq'd brats that I bought Sunday. They were fresh made, jalapeño and cheddar brats, about 8" long that were, in my opinion, the best brats ever. I wolfed down both, enjoying every bite, and announcing afterwards "I will tell everyone I know about these brats." Hence, this post... :)

If you have a chance to get over there and pick some up I give them 2 thumbs way up. They have many different varieties if jalapeño and cheddar isn't your bag.

Mmm, mmm, good.

I complained about them not having the fresh ground honey glazed peanut butter maker. They said they had a rotation of different nuts BUT - EVERYBODY was complaining about the lack of it so maybe they will have one of the two grinders soon.

Check it out next time.

OH and Larry's Market in Seattle - yea - I was thinking the same thing! :-)

The Larry's Market tidbit was for my loyal Seattle readers.

Larry's went out of business last year. The new place that blew Larry's OTB is the Metropolitan Market. They have a deli in there that has prime rib roasting and ready to eat for a sandwich or dinner everyday. It's a little pricey but awesome. I think there are currently only 2 or 3 stores but they're expanding.

Wow, can't believe Larry's could get knocked out. I wish we'd get more stuff like that here, but we're meat and potatoes, cheapo kind of people.

Yeah, Some people said their demise was they expaneded to much a few years ago. There's another good store by where you used to live by Sears. I think it's called the Market Place. Live seafood, oysters, shrimp, crab. It's funny to watch peoples reactions when they wrap up the crab when it's still crawling in the paper. Good butcher shop too.

Brat-mail! I'm guessing you don't want fresh brats sitting in the back of a truck for a few days. Just a guess though.

Do you southerners even know what a brat is? :)

Oh yeah. Had my share of 'em. We're not as backwoods as everyone would like to believe, you know.
