Super Bowl Media Machine

The overhype machine is up to full speed now. They actually did a 2 minute story on Sportscenter, complete with interviews of the players involved, about a van with several Seahawks players on it that, hold on, wait, it's impressive...
bumped into a post going 2 miles per hour... Apparently some of the players were shaken. As opposed to stirred? Forfucksake, let the game start already.

Let's see, what else have we learned about the Super Bowl?
  • Jerome Bettis might be too distracted by "coming home" that he won't get his 4 carries for 3 yards and 3 td's.
  • Seahawks owner Paul Allen gave the team one of his 757's to fly around in and they have many types of media the players can watch, ranging from tv to dvd. Wow...
  • San Fran beat Cinci in the last super bowl played in Detroit (come on, do the Icky Shuffle).
  • More to come as today is the official MEDIA DAY! Oh boy...

Enough on the super bowl.

Ok, this is something that made me angry this morning and that's not how I like to spend my 5:45 to 6am wake up tv watching... Mike Greenberg of Mike and Mike on ESPN Radio decided that Brett Favre's comments about retiring the other day were really meant to say that he wants out of Green Bay and wants to be traded or cut and go to a winning team AND that he thought that he and T.O. should go to Miami and they would win the Super Bowl. Man, talk about someone that's got his head up his ass. Does anyone (without his head up his ass) think that Brett would actually play for someone other than GB? No chance...

Speaking of T.O., looks like he's meeting with Denver trying to work out a trade. Again, Mike and Mike both commenting on how Shanahan would be able to control T.O. because he's a "strong personality". Likewise with Parcells and Saban. Ok, so what does that make Andy Reid? They're basically calling him a big puss...

And now it's time for *da da daaaaaa*, the 24 recap. Again, if you haven't watched yet or just plain don't give a shit, stop reading here.

Jack Bauer convinces CTU that he should meet with Mike Skovic of the President's staff to tell him about Walt Cummings plan. Cummings overhears and tells the Pres that he is behind the plan to steal the nerve gas and they plan on remotely detonating it from satellite when the terrorists get it back to their "hide out". Ok, the President surely wouldn't believe that load of crap would he? Yes, he would. He orders Bauer and Skovic arrested and detained until the nerve gas has left the dock.

Fortunately, Jack convinces the head of the secret service to take him to the president. Once there Jack proceeds to beat the tar out of Cummings with the president watching. Cummings insists he doesn't know where the gas is. Jack then whips out his trusty knife and informs Cummings that first his right eye is coming out, then the left, then his tongue. Apprently Cummings doesn't believe him until Jack actually begins to cut just below his right eye, then he sings like a canary.

CTU swarms on the shipping container but when they get into it the gas is gone and the guy Cummings thought was the inside guy is there, dead. The man with the yellow tie is a terrorist and is going to release the gas in the U.S..

I've been listening the past two days on Fox radio. They're commenting on the same thing. One guy today purposed that maybe Favre wants to be the hero for the Pack. Like he'll push open the pearly gates of Lambeau and everyone will bow down when he decides to return.

I'm not sure if that's the case, but it would happen if he does it.

I think everyone is just trying to make something out of nothing. Every time he says something they have to figure out what it means. My wife does the same thing. Not every thing that is said has to have some hidden meaning in it. If he says I don't know, maybe he just means I don't know...

Yea - I have heard that and it is such a piece of BS. I actually emailed a guy on MSNBC tellign him perhaps he should find another occupation if he really thinks Favre wants to play for somebody else. No reply back yet.

I submitted Mike Greenberg for "Just Shut Up" on their own show for his idiotic comments.
I suggested he put down the crack pipe.
