Sorry for the delay, blogger bug got me.
Ok, with the holidays finally behind us, all you slackers should get back to work already!
Did everyone have a fun new years? We had our neighbors over for dinner, games and drinking Saturday night. We played a new game called Apples to Apples which is pretty fun. Check it out. Unfortunately we (and by we I mean everyone but me) decided to play Uno again. The last time we attempted to play Uno we had one hand last about 2 hours and I didn't want to go through that again. And wouldn't you know it, our 3rd hand lasted about 90 minutes and ended the game. I've never heard anyone else have a single hand of Uno last that long but now we've done it twice. If they ever bring that up again I'm leaving...
Sunday we watched what was probably Brett Favre's last game (especially now that Sherman has been fired). It sure looked like he was retiring from his actions and emotions. I'm guessing it's over but he probably won't announce it for a couple months.
After that we ended up watching a couple movies. First was the unrated version of The 40 Year Old Virgin. I laughed my ass off and I think I cried a little during the chest hair waxing scene... that was hard to watch! Be warned, there are about 1,400 F-bombs in that movie. Next was Cinderella Man. I really liked that one, a real "human story", starring Russell Crowe and Renee, yuk, Zellweger. Oh, and when you're looking at Max Baer and can't figure out where you've seen that actor before, let me help. He played the husband of the family that Dickie went to live with in Dickie Roberts: Child Star. It drove me nuts for a long time.
Yesterday was clean the damn basement day. We are in the process, as you know, of getting ready to finish the basement. Step 1 is to get rid of all the shit we've accumulated in 5+ years. Holy crap, what a nightmare. We filled 14 contractor size garbage bags with shit, ranging from old Christmas decorations to knick knacks from 10 years ago to old hockey helmets. I'm going to take some pictures tonight of the carnage we left behind. It's all waiting to go to the dump along with a ton of stuff for Goodwill (futon, chair, bookcase, etc). The entire basement is full except for the shelves which are now nicely organized and only have stuff on it we actually use.
When we finally quit it was about 6:30. Both of us were exhausted so we ordered pizza and watched another movie. This one was off the Cdubya queue at Netflix... The Perfect Man starring Heather Locklear as a single mom with low self esteem (ok, anyone see a problem with that? I sure did!), Hillary Duff as her daughter and the guy that played Mr. Big in Sex and the City. It wasn't bad but I couldn't get over Heather thinking she's anything but hot and actually going on a date with the slob guy from Yes, Dear.
Scrubs makes it's debut tonight with 2 episodes, can't wait! Also, 24 starts again Sunday night. Can't wait to see what Jack Bauer gets himself into this year.
Have a great Tuesday...

The 40 Year Old Virgin - it's on my to do loist. We Watche the Aviator - pretty good !!
Also on my watch list is The Wedding Crashers.
Hey - how much are you estimating the basement will cost. We're ripping off the bach side of our house in 2007 - I'll have to blog it!! Then my brother was up and we were looking at WHAT walls are load barring walls. The only one was the one we wanted to rip down LOL.
You can't tear down the outside wall! What you need to do is to just put a doorway in it to get to the new area.
Of course, the complicated way would be to tear it down but replace it with multiple load bearing sections that fit your new design. I hope you're hiring someone to do that....
