Ok, so maybe Arby's has nothing to do with bowling... I subbed in a company league last night and shot my first ever 300 game.
Bowling at lanes I haven't bowled at since I was 18 in juniors, I struggled to find the shot during warmups. I kind of muddled through the first 6 frames but found it late and had the last 6 strikes for a 248. It just kept going in the 2nd game until I found myself in the 10th with it going. First 2 balls I wasn't nervous and they were perfect shots. I started shaking on the last one though. The hit was light in the pocket and everything mixed well but the 8 pin was still standing for about 4 hours it seemed, but the other pins ganged up on it and knocked it backwards. What a relief, only took 33 years to do it! :)
I ended up blowing a chance at 800 with an open in the 7th frame of the 3rd game and shot 222 for 770.
Phew!

The only time I was close to a 300 (299) that last frame was a nightmare. I had to pee, my eyes were watering, my heart was pounding , I was sweating my knees were shaking.
Over cooked the ball with a little to much adrenaline and had a solid 9.
Congrates - it's all down hill now!
I was a touch nervous. I did the opposite of you. I didn't get a lot on it.
Congrats on your 300. I've shot a 236 once.... The best bowling story I have is that my name was drawn during moonlight bowling about 25 years ago. I had been drinking and didn't hear my name they just said "That's you go bowl" So I went over to the spotlight lane and everyone stopped to watch. One guy said "Don't be nervos" I wasn't because I was drunk and didn't know what I was bowling for so I just threw the ball straight down the lane as hard as I could. Let the 9 pin standing. Then I was told it was for $250 which was about 2 weeks pay for me!
I'm surprised that was your first 300 game.
Thanks, yeah, I should have a bunch of 300's but I've never gotten lucky enough.
I suck at bowling. I just don't go enough.
The last time I played.... I got beat by a girl. On a date. Badly. And when it was all over, she told me "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I was in a league for a few years a little while back."
I may never play again.
How embarassing... I'm assuming that was your last date with her.
Of course, my friend CB is routinely beaten by his wife. And she wins at bowling too. *rim shot*
